Hugh Wareham: General Manager
Hugh was the inaugural CEO of ECO-Buy, and has led ECO-Buy to become a Centre of Excellence in Environmental Purchasing and through its recent merger with Net Balance.
Hugh is also a Board member of Environment Victoria and was previously the Director and Deputy to Victoria’s Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability.
Prior to moving to Australia, Hugh worked in a number of senior positions for the Environment Agency, the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales.
Stephen Reardon: Supplier Program Manager
Stephen is ECO-Buy’s green product specialist. He advises both the buy side and the supply side of ECO-Buy’s membership on whether a product is green or greenwash. He deals with suppliers of green products on a daily basis as manager of ECO-Find.
Stephen’s expertise covers life cycle thinking, the development and application of sustainability criteria, verification of claims, environmental standards and labels, and supplier liaison.
Prior to working at ECO-Buy, Stephen worked for several years as a Sustainability Analyst for Monash Sustainability Enterprises where he developed systems to assess the sustainability performance of ASX listed companies.
Lilli McCubbin: Government Program Manager
Lilli is responsible for delivering services and advice to state government clients to assist with meeting sustainable procurement objectives. Lilli also undertakes project management and delivery roles. She regularly delivers training courses and facilitates network meetings and workshops. Lilli brings her knowledge and skills from a Masters of Science in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability, from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden. In particular, her thesis research focussed on applying a strategic sustainable development perspective to assessing suppliers.
Prior to undertaking further study, Lilli worked as an environmental consultant with EnviroCom across the areas of waste reduction, resource recovery, green procurement, education, behaviour change and communications for local government clients.
Sara Redmond-Neal: Business Program Manager
Sara provides sustainable purchasing advice to business sector members and clients of ECO-Buy. She has particular experience advising on best practice sustainable procurement frameworks and conducting supplier sustainability assessments. She also manages the training program, running public and in-house training courses and events across Australia. Before joining ECO-Buy, Sara worked as an environmental consultant with URS, working across sustainability strategy, environmental footprinting, energy efficiency, waste reduction, renewable energy studies, life cycle analysis and environmental risk assessment, across a number of public and private organisations and industries.
Cameron Neil
Cameron is a social entrepreneur and strategist with significant experience in sustainable procurement and supply chains. As the lead of Net Balance’s Supply Chain business area, he has recently undertaken supply chain projects with Officeworks, Bunnings, Woolworths, Fortescue Metals Group, Goodman Fielder, Domayne, and the Australian Food and Grocery Council.
Cameron has assisted more than 200 Australian retailers and manufacturers to build ethical supply chains and implement robust control systems through his previous role with Fairtrade Australia & New Zealand. He has advised government bodies, large and small businesses and community sector organisations on ethical and sustainable procurement and the development of appropriate sourcing policies and procedures.
While having particular knowledge of food supply chains and Fairtrade, Cameron has also worked with the garment sector and has experience with other standards and certifications covering forestry, palm oil and eco-tourism.

Mark Lyster
Over the last 15 years Mark has advised leading corporations on how to embed sustainability into their operations in ways that add shareholder and stakeholder value. He specialises in the finance, resources and infrastructure sectors where he consults on sustainability strategy, governance and performance management systems, climate change risk adaptation, sustainable procurement and change management. Mark has significant experience working with some of Australia’s leading companies and helping them to embed their sustainability principles and goals within their supply chain through their procurement activities. He has advised the following clients on sustainable procurement and supply chain issues: Tenix, Sydney Water, Meat & Livestock Australia, DEXUS, Optus, ANZ, Port of Brisbane, Fed Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water Population and Community, Transport for NSW, Commonwealth Bank and IAG. Prior to joining Net Balance, Mark was the national leader of Evans & Peck’s Sustainability & Climate Services and a partner of Ecos Corporation for 11 years.
Kathryn Smith
Kathryn draws on her wide-ranging sustainability and climate change experience to help both government and corporate clients understand and assess sustainability risks and opportunities within their broader supply chains and then use this information to develop sustainable procurement strategies and policies. Her recent supply chain projects include developing a business case for sustainable procurement for Sydney Water using the BS 8902:2010 Principles and Framework for Procuring Sustainably, and reviewing and contributing to the development of the Procurement and Purchasing section of the Australian Green Infrastructure Council’s (AGIC) Infrastructure Sustainability Rating Tool. Kathryn also contributed as an author to the publication ASX 100 Disclosures on Supply Chain Sustainability which was nominated for the Ethical Investor Corporate Sustainability Awards – Sustainable Research Category.
Alison Raymond
Alison has eight years’ experience as a sustainability professional working within the government and community sectors. She has broad experience developing partnerships with corporate organisations to deliver corporate social responsibility and environmental outcomes in the areas of natural resource management and green purchasing. Alison successfully adapted the ECO-Buy Local Government program resources to establish the ECO-Buy Business program, securing membership from national corporations and helping to influence sustainable change in large supply chains. Alison holds a Master of Environment (Governance, Policy and Communication stream) from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education from the University of Tasmania. She is based in Tasmania where she is establishing Net Balance's latest regional office.
Erica Olesson
Erica is an Environmental Engineer with four years of experience in environmental design and construction supervision, primarily in the area of solid waste. Since joining Net Balance, Erica has been involved in sustainability reporting and assurance, independent product stewardship auditing, and developing community indicator frameworks. Before moving to Sydney, Erica worked for Tonkin & Taylor engineering consultants in Auckland in landfill design, and contract and construction supervision. Erica holds Bachelor degrees in Civil Engineering (with Honours) and Arts from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Natasha Menezes
Natasha specialises in sustainability reporting and supply chain strategy and advisory. She has particular expertise in the dairy, palm oil, mining, energy and local government sectors. She brings her supply chain knowledge and skills to ECO-Buy’s clients where she regularly engages with suppliers, local government and business providing advice on sustainable sourcing/procurement, human rights, labels/codes, audits and capacity building.
Natasha has completed a Master’s degree in Environment and Sustainability and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Environmental and Sustainability Management from Monash University. At university she was part of the Green Steps Program where she received training in environmental auditing, sustainability management and behavioural change.
