How to join

As a member of the ECO-Buy Local Government Program your council must pass a Resolution outlining their commitment to implementing a green purchasing program. The Resolution commits Council to:

  1. nominate a staff person to coordinate implementation of the ECO-Buy program
  2. establish an ECO-Buy Working Group
  3. develop, adopt and implement a Green Purchasing Policy
  4. develop and implement an annual Action Plan
  5. establish a system to track purchasing of green products
  6. provide an Annual Report to ECO-Buy on the purchasing of green products.

Local government members are also required to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with ECO-Buy which remains active for a period of 36 months, subject to payment of an annual membership fee.
