AELA, the Australian Environmental Labelling Association, manages Australia's Environmental Choice Label - an independent ecolabelling certification scheme established under the guidance of the ISO 12020 series of international standards for a range of products on the Australia Market. The site lists the range of certified products available in Australia.
Global Ecolabelling Network
The Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) is a non-profit association of third-party, environmental performance labelling organisation founded in 1994 to improve, promote, and develop the 'ecolabelling' of products and services.
TCO Labelling provides an accreditation to help choose office equipment (CRT displays, computers, printers, mobile phones, furniture etc). It has a database of certified products and the products themselves have the TCO label.
EPEAT (Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool) is a US based procurement tool to help institutional purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare and select desktop computers, notebooks and monitors based on their environmental attributes. EPEAT also provides a clear and consistent set of performance criteria for the design of products, and provides an opportunity for manufacturers to secure market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC is an international not-for-profit membership-based organisation focused on improving forestry practices. It is the most widely supported certification organistion for forest products including timber and paper.
The Australian Forestry Certification Scheme (AFCS) AFCS includessustainable forest managment and chain of custody certification processes that meet Australian Standards AS 4708 and AS 4709 respectively, and it is endoresed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) schemes.
