Taggerty Sustainable Building Workshop
ECO-Buy participated in a Sustainable Building Workshop at Taggerty on Saturday 17th October. The event was organised by the Murrindindi Climate Network and was designed to help people who lost their homes in the February fires learn more about sustainable options for rebuilding.
The event included a number of talks from sustainability professionals including architects and builders as well as an overview of sustainable housing from Sustainability Victoria.
ECO-Buy attended with a display of green products sourced from its ECO-Find database, and discussed the application of these products to participants in the workshop. It was also useful to have samples of green products that could be used to provide real world examples of the products referred to by the architects and builders.
The event was very well attended , which shows the high level of interest in the community for building sustainability.
Further events are planned for the fire affected regions, including the possibility of a larger sustainability Expo sometime in the new year. ECO-Buy is planning to play a role in these events.
