About the ECO-Buy Sustainable Procurement Program
The aim of the ECO-Buy Sustainable Procurement State Government Program is to provide expertise, advice and support to help enable state government entities meet their policy commitments and targets in the area of sustainable procurement.
The ECO-Buy State Government Program in Victoria started as a pilot in 2008/09. Since then, the program has expanded to include more than 30 Departments and Agencies of the Victorian Government. The range of assistance provided has included:
- Capacity building via in-house workshops
- Tailored advice on greening tenders and contracts
- Assessing spend and determining sustainable procurement priorities for departments and agencies
- Reviewing sustainable product options in State Purchase Contracts
- Design of sustainable procurement tracking and reporting models
