ECO-Buy's CEO Hugh Wareham was invited to the third international Conference on Green Purchasing in Suwon, South Korea held on 21-23 Ovtober 2009. This conference included over 1500 participants from 52 countries. Hugh presented on the activities of ECO-Buy members and highlighted their achievements on an international stage.

EU bans 100-watt light bulbs
A European Union ban on the manufacture and import of 100-watt and frosted incandescent light bulbs, in use since the 19th century, has come into force.
They are being phased out to encourage the switch to more energy-efficient fluorescent or halogen lamps, which use up to 80% less electricity.
